we returned home from vacation to a broken air conditioner… in this july georgia heat, that’s not good!! with that breaking down plus my new, and always inspiring, issue of cooking light magazine (don’t subscribe to it? check it out here!), i decided to make some homemade patriotic popsicles instead of cupcakes!
a great alternative to those store-bought, ultra-sugary pops, these strawberry/yogurt/blueberry popsicles are all natural, fresh, AND delicious!

the hubs ate several…

they were such a hit that i’ve already ordered more popsicle molds and i want to test some new flavors! so tell me, what’s your favorite popsicle flavor?
Last year, the hubs and I hosted a cookout plus swimming & fireworks for July 4th. We’ll probably do the exact same thing this year. But no complaints here… I love this new tradition!
I’ve decided that what we need now is some good, patriotic cupcakes to complete our celebration! I can’t help but share a few masterpieces that I stumbled across while looking for an easy, but still impressive creation! (Sorry in advance!
mmmmm…)
WOW! These are truly amazing & inspiring, BUT I think I’ll just make some simpler buttercream cupcakes with a little decorative star on top! HA!
In other news – We’ve just been at the beach for a much-needed, week-long vacation. It was so beautiful & relaxing (maybe that laid back attitude is affecting my cupcake energy)! I’ll need to sort through my pictures, and I’ll post some of my faves this week. In the meantime, here’s just one that I took on my phone (<-- my new iPhone 4, which I love!) So pretty…

Heading home now, and wishing you all a safe & happy Independence Day weekend!

it’s randomly hilarious to me.
it’s been a couple of weeks of non-stop Christmas preparations & celebrations… here’s our sweet logan showing off all of our hard work of Christmas shopping & wrapping! LOL, i love this pic of him!
hopefully you had a very merry Christmas last week and are now looking forward to the new year! i know i’m excited for 2010 ~ just in january, i’ll be attending a friend’s wedding and CHA Anaheim! is anyone else planning on going to CHA? i’d love to see you there! (plus, i have two cousins who are both having babies in 2010!)

and i leave you with just this:
it’s has me nearly in tears every time i watch it!! hahaha
this past weekend, i started brainstorming a new “dog-themed” page kit… briefly mentioned here. since the only “child” in our current household is a big black furry one, i am frequently inspired to scrap a page about him! and yet, i have never created an animal-friendly kit of my own!
so, i scoured the internet searching for cool, new pet-friendly products to inspire me – and LOOK what i found! i had no idea dog bowls could be sooooo cool!!! these HUGx ERGONOMIC BOWLS come in several different colors are ever-so stylish! available at chewedslippers.com

i now, of course, must have one of these!
ABC News Online article on digital scrapbooking to check out: “Scrapbooking the Digital Way Offers Ease, Speed”
http://abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/WireStory?id=5687185
i have to admit that i was excited to see this published! i love the acknowledgment of our industry, and highlighting the obvious benefits of “going digital” … there’s a very brief mention of hybrid designs, too. so, we know that digital scrapbooking is a growing industry, but does this somehow validate us? because the associated press at ABC News decided to write an article summarizing what we do and love?!
what do you think?
