Thank you for your incredible support, for using my designs in your life art, and for sharing a bit of your story with me. ♥

Happy Thanksgiving!!

Shortly after completing my custom illustrations for Tamara of Eh! Good Looking Photography, my new friend Carol requested a totally unique set of whimsical illustrations.  Carol wanted three note card designs as a gift for her son’s upcoming birthday.  Each note card needed a different design having special meaning to her son: a lobster, a bowl of blueberries, and chocolate birthday cake.

Here’s what I came up with… These were so fun to create & I love this sponge-painted effect!

If you love this layered cake as much as I do, I’ve turned it into a downloadable sticker for your digital creations!  CLICK HERE to grab your free birthday cake! :)   ENJOY!

I’m blogging from the beach today – The Hubs and I are having a great time down here at Rosemary Beach!  Lots of relaxing on the shore and eating delicious food.  I even enjoyed a Nutella Latte last night – if you love hazelnut Nutella, then yes, it tastes just as amazing as it sounds! :)   We’re wrapping up our vacation tomorrow, and the end has come way too quickly.  However, there is a black, fuzzy creature at home that I look forward to seeing soon…

Just a couple of digiscrap announcements before I head home:

First, “Congratulations to Melinda Wilson!”  Melinda was the winner of my Funky Fourth Page Kit!!

At our house, we’re finally ready for the trick-or-treaters tonight!  We aren’t expecting very many, so I went all out with these little candy bags.  I had so much fun putting them together yesterday!

Every year, the hubs and I have a great time designing & carving a jack-0-lantern for Halloween.  He is a huge Georgia Bulldogs fan, so this year we have a “DAWG” welcoming our visitors to our front porch. :)

For those of you who celebrate Halloween, have a safe & fun night tonight!

Halloween is just around the corner, and it’s a wonderful opportunity to get crafty!  I went in search of some hybrid Halloween inspiration and found some awesome projects to share with you!  These are a few of my favorites:

Halloween Birdhouse

Spooktacular Birdhouse

This Spooktacular Birdhouse can be found here at Design House Digital.

Fall Treat Toppers

Fall Treat Toppers

Pumpkin Box

Luminaries

These three projects can be found here at The Daily Digi.

Popcorn & Soda

Popcorn & Soda

This popcorn box and soda label can be found here at Peppermint Creative.

These can be found here at A Cherry On Top.

Aren’t these hybrid projects just gorgeous!  I hope they inspire you and get you in the Halloween spirit!  :)

Don’t forget: I have revamped my Halloweentown page kit, and it’s on sale for 20% off!  This would be perfect for making your hybrid projects and Halloween layouts.

Happy creating and I hope to see your awesome projects in the galleries soon!

Pumpkin White Hot Chocolate at Good Life Eats!

we returned home from vacation to a broken air conditioner… in this july georgia heat, that’s not good!! with that breaking down plus my new, and always inspiring, issue of cooking light magazine (don’t subscribe to it? check it out here!), i decided to make some homemade patriotic popsicles instead of cupcakes! :)

a great alternative to those store-bought, ultra-sugary pops, these strawberry/yogurt/blueberry popsicles are all natural, fresh, AND delicious!

the hubs ate several… :)

they were such a hit that i’ve already ordered more popsicle molds and i want to test some new flavors! so tell me, what’s your favorite popsicle flavor?

Last year, the hubs and I hosted a cookout plus swimming & fireworks for July 4th. We’ll probably do the exact same thing this year. But no complaints here… I love this new tradition!

I’ve decided that what we need now is some good, patriotic cupcakes to complete our celebration! I can’t help but share a few masterpieces that I stumbled across while looking for an easy, but still impressive creation! (Sorry in advance! :D mmmmm…)

WOW! These are truly amazing & inspiring, BUT I think I’ll just make some simpler buttercream cupcakes with a little decorative star on top! HA!

In other news – We’ve just been at the beach for a much-needed, week-long vacation. It was so beautiful & relaxing (maybe that laid back attitude is affecting my cupcake energy)! I’ll need to sort through my pictures, and I’ll post some of my faves this week. In the meantime, here’s just one that I took on my phone (<-- my new iPhone 4, which I love!) So pretty…

Heading home now, and wishing you all a safe & happy Independence Day weekend!
